SHE IS 7!!!!

Iris turned 7 on June 2nd!!!!!

Back in March.....you know when your kid is already talking about their birthday THREE MONTHS IN ADVANCE...... I looked at the calendar and being large with twins I thought, "Huh, first of June, that's a super inconvienent time to have a birthday this year."

Enter my friend Teri.......
Iris happened to mention her June birthday to Teri back in March and Teri suggested Iris' party be at HER house and she can throw the party for me.
SUUUUPER nice of her to offer, but accepting help isn't really my forté.
Teri insisted and after Brooks saying to me, "Melissa, you KNOW that would be the most helpful thing ever, just accept her offer!"
So I did.

8 days after the twins were born Teri threw Iris probably the best party any of my kids have had.
It was a Sofia Princess Pool Party!!!!

Here's Teri with Iris and the balloons Teri got her.

Two days before the party she brought Aleeya and Iris home from church with her to make all the goodies including "Princess Popcorn"
The girls felt so special.
And Iris got to hold her chickens. Apparently she didn't let go of this one for a good five minutes. Iris just looks so happy.

The actual party day my sister was still in town (obviously she was still in town, Iris' hair is in a cool braid headband thing!) so SHE took Iris, Aleeya, Royce and Kellyn to the party.

The food spread.....well, SOME of it.

Seriously, Teri wouldn't let me do a THING! or give money.
I sent treat bags....and the birthday girl.
That's IT!

They did crafts and Teri even sent the kids on a treasure hunt. Here is Iris reading one of the (rhyming) clues.

Royce was the only boy there..... but still found ways to entertain himself.
Poor chicken.

Iris, with he backdrop and princess accessories from Teri.

You can just SEE on her face what a success the party was to her.
That made me so happy (AND GRATEFUL) when I saw all these pictures!

On Iris' actual birthday she wanted a cheesecake

which the kids didn't eat too much of (FINE BY ME!) since they were full from the chocolate fountain that Aunt Wa had brought and provided.
Let me say that again, my sister seriously packed a CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN in her suitcase for my kids to enjoy! haha

Iris and her Sofia art kit.
Obviously she loves Sofia and she REALLY loves crayons, markers, scissors and all the stuff I hide, lock up and take away for fear of Everly's "creative juices".

Her junk box.
It didn't last too long because there really isn't a more generous little girl on the face of the planet. Truly, she has the LARGEST heart and everyone in the family was enjoying her junk box that evening.

Happy Birthday Irisita tan chiquita.

Ok, how great of a friend!! You certainly have met some awesome people in SC and I'm sure as charming as you truly are, you will meet new wonderful people in St. Louis too! Iris' birthday was darling and I love that she let the girls help make the treats to prepare for the party and get Iris all the more excited. So sweet! What a perfect week for her with your sister being in town too. I bet you both had such an awesome time being together for so long...maybe you could send her my way after our baby, she looks amazing ;)
