Looks like I have a little budding entrepeneur on my hands. I found out on Thursday that Bronson (5 years old, kindergarten) has been running a little side business on the busride to school. Now, those of you who know Brooks would KNOW exactly where his itch comes from......afterall, Brooks has started many money opportunities in the past
1. Newlywed address number painting (he would take me along to see, "hi, we're newlyweds....." Most HUMILIATING thing ever) on the curbs
2. The obvious, tutoring and giving plasma all the time through med. school
3. Selling anything around the house that I made
4. Pest control
5. Crawling into crawl spaces and cleaning out under people's houses
6. His sucessful pooper-scooper business he started with a friend right after his mission
(To make a jump from those to a doctor is quite the American dream, I should say)....before I go on though, I think I have the HARDEST working husband I know and would do anything to provide.
Anyway, so back to Bronson. I've let him take 3-ish toys on the bus in his backpack everyday because it's a long busride to his school and he's one of 7 kids on the bus.....I thought he would get bored. Well, so there's this kid from Mexico named Matthew (I know, not the name you would expect). He's six years old and apparently has the word "sucker" written on his forehead. Bronson sells Matthew the RIGHTS to play with his toys on the bus. Then when they get to school Matthew gives the toys back.
I didn't find out about this until I overheard him tell Camden (funny how I find out who's trying to kiss him, who has what lunchbox, etc. through Camden). I was torn. I wasn't sure if I should save poor Matthew his money or if I should burn Bronson's hope of ever earning money on the bus and therefore burning any lines of communication......what to do, what to do.
When I asked him about it he said it was okay because Matthew was his friend and he would give money to his friends too. (Note to self: don't give him any money) So when he got home from school yesterday I asked if Matthew gave him anymore money and he said "No, because Matthew has to sell more of this things in a yard sale to get more money". Gosh, I feel horrible for the little mexicano.
Maybe I should start driving him to school.......

I married Joe the Plumber
Seriously, I did.....if ONLY if he could make more money...but that's a side note. Saturday was an eventful day in any woman's life.....the kitchen sink was plugged. Brooks has been able to fix any other time it has happened in other houses because it's just right there in the pipes you can reach under the sink. Well, NOTHING was working and no internet article knew our problem. Then our neighbor showed us downstairs in the garage how our pipes run EXACTLY horizontal. Soooo, you're wondering "Why would they do that, because then water, small particles can't drain?" YES, OUR POINT PRECISELY! So Brooks took down those pipes in the garage and worked on them all day while I watched my kitchen go to pot! ARG! I HATE that! We couldn't wash dishes (I did eventually in the bathtub), all our things from under the cupboards were out all over, I was making dinner for a new mommy and having someone over that night. Brooks needed my help getting the pipes down, because I'm muscle woman and who wouldn't need my help right? Right when I walked into the garage I was almost knocked over with the smell. I have NEVER smelled anything worse then those pipes and the CRAP in them.....and with my four young kids, I've SMELLED my fair share of stuff. Upon checking out the pipes we found they were completely plugged with black guck that seemed like the pipes have never been cleaned out since it was built in the 70s!!! We tried everything to get it out and it finally starting sluffing (isn't that word so descriptive!?) off. Think the texture of wet playdough/tar that smelled like someone's colon was stuffed for 3 decades and died. Now, you've got the picture. AND to make it worse, it was soooo hard to keep the boys out of it. Emerson was convinced it was mud. (and you know my kids and mud)

So where does my kitchen sink and pipes stand now.....well, they're still on our driveway, cleaned out. I'm still doing dishes in the bathroom and using paper plates. TODAY (Monday) is the day after work they'll be finished.....hopefully. And with marrying Joe the Plumber, the worse part about it is.......I didn't even get to see crack!
